What Makes This Shower Different? Custom Sandblasting

One of the most distinctive features of this project is the custom sandblasted glass.

Sandblasting is a glass-finishing process that creates a translucent, frosted appearance on the glass surface.

For a shower enclosure, this can be an excellent way to introduce privacy without completely closing off the shower visually.

In this installation, the sandblasted sections provide privacy across the middle of the enclosure while the clear glass above keeps the shower feeling open and allows natural light to pass through.

How did this come to fruition?  MATH. Special attention was made to deductions for the glass to ensure that the sandblasted portions of the shower door and panel were aligned. We love math at Hillcrest Glass.
